Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a speaker and consultant, a columnist syndicated, speaker writer, author and television show host. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly after. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. As of February 2020, she's signed 53 deals for the show, the largest one being $350,000 in 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second of a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who drank often and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle in school and later learned that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
