 Kyra minturn Sedgwick was born on August 19 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most well-known work is playing the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. After the end of the seventh season, the show was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's films roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003).
